This year, National Voluntary Blood Donation day was celebrated at Department of Transfusion Medicine, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi on 1st of October 2018. An In-house ‘blood donation camp’ was conducted in the department from 9 am to 1 pm. 15 Voluntary donors (13 male, 2 female) donated to mark this occasion and promote voluntary blood donation. All the donors were presented with a ‘certificate of appreciation’ and a small gift for the same and congratulated. A cake-cutting ceremony was attended by the regular repeat voluntary blood donors, social workers, and staff of the department and the management officials of the hospital. Dr Mohit Chowdhry acknowledged the voluntary blood donors for their noble gesture to keep the great work ongoing.
