On 01st of October, National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (NVBDD) is getting celebrated in India consistently every year to share the need and significance of the blood in the life of a person. This day is mainly celebrated to thank voluntary non-remunerated blood donors for their life saving gift of blood. Focus of this year’s campaign... The campaign theme for this year’s National Voluntary Blood Donor Day is “Let’s donate blood voluntarily and contribute to the fight against CORONA”  The campaign aims to encourage and motivate the people especially the youth to come forward voluntarily and donate blood and be a warrior in this fight against CORONA.  Due to the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic, we have not organized any mega event at Life Blood Centre.  Keeping theme of NVBDD in mind, we have decided to felicitate COvid-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP) donors who helped us in current situation of Covid-19.  40 voluntary non-remunerated whole blood donors, 01 SDP donor and 01 CCP donor donated on 01st October, 2020 at Life Blood Centre, Rajkot.  A special token of appreciation along with certificate was given to all in-house voluntary blood donors.  All Covid-19 Convalescent Plasma donors who have donated plasma till 15th September 2020 were felicitated through an appreciation certificate by Gujarat State Council for Blood Transfusion (GSCBT).
