A D Gorwala Blood Bank is a blood bank, working under the ambit of Charutar Arogya Mandal, caters to the transfusion needs of rural areas within the Anand district( fondly known as the Charotar area). For the celebration of the " National Voluntary Blood Donation Day", a walkathon and a street play( followed by a live testimonial by a thalessemia patient associated with ADGBB for more than two decades- Mr. Bhavin Barot) was organised in Anand. With the purpose to promote the motto," At-least Donate Blood Once in a Lifetime", 120 participants which included the staff of the blood bank, students from the medical college and college of medical laboratory technician ( affiliated with CAM) raised slogans encouraging blood donation during the walkathon. The street play was performed which emphasized the need for voluntary donation. A questions and answers session followed, where the general public were encouraged to voice their concerns and queries regarding blood donation. The event was also covered by local news agencies. Selfies of regular donors with a placard were also taken to be posted in various whatsapp groups for motivation.
