Activity : Donor Motivation cum Awareness Program with Celebration of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

Blood Bank, Gomati District Hospital, have observed National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on 1st Oct 2018 in a befitting manner. A number of pre-programme activities were done on occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, to raise awareness on voluntary blood donation such as 1. A free Blood grouping camp among students of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya on 29th Sept 2018, enrolled 100s of students for blood donation in dire need. 2. Essay competition on Blood Donation Challenges & Future Ideas among students of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya. The main programme celebrated at Seminar hall of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya in collaboration with NSS & NCC Unit of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, Udaipur. Sri Biplab Kr. Ghosh, Hon. MLA, Tripura Legislative Assembly, inaugurated the programme. Dr. (Mrs.) Dipannita Chakraborty, Principal, Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya presided over the programme, Mr. A. R Reddy, IPS, SP (Gomati), and Sri Pradip Chakraborty, NSS Programme Officer, Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya were also present as guest of honor. College students, NSS programme officer of different schools, Representative of different youth clubs, Representatives of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Faculty members of NSM were present among participants. At the programme Dr. Sujit Roy MOI/C, Blood Bank delivered welcome speech & shared importance of the day in voluntary blood donation movement. Dr. Chiranjit Noatia, Medical Officer, Blood Bank presented a PowerPoint show on present factual situation/crisis of blood in the state & ideas for improvement. Other respected dignitaries also gave their valuable speech to motivate the youths for voluntary blood donation. Two nos. of person were felicitated for organising special blood donation camp (Birth & Death Anniversary) and 21 nos. of college students were also given small tokens and certificate of appreciation for essay competition. Participants actively participated in the program, educated themselves and cleared their doubts on interactive session Programme ended with great enthusiasm for organising a blood donation in the college campus with at least 100s donor in coming month.
