In association with Gujarat State Council for Blood Transfusion (GSCBT), Indian Society for Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI)-Gujarat Chapter had organized a state level motivational program this year on the occasion of World Blood Donors’ day i.e. on 14th June 2020 on virtual platform. In the era of current pandemic, the voluntary blood donation activity is hampered a lot. It was the need of the hour to motivate more and more people to come forward and donate blood altruistically. As a gathering could not take place in such a situation, ISBTI-Gujarat chapter had conducted a Webinar on the occasion of World blood donor day 2020. The Webinar was conducted on Zoom platform and streamed live on Facebook. Dr Rajesh Gopal, Director, GSCBT made a presentation on the Scenario in COVID pandemic in Blood Centres of Gujarat. Technical aspects for conduction of blood donation activities was nicely explained by Dr. Ripal Shah, Secretary, ISBTI - Gujarat Chapter. Video message for Blood donation and 14th June from Honorable Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat; Honorable State Minister, Health and Family Welfare Dept., Government of Gujarat; Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Dept., Government of Gujarat; and Shri Prem Swami, Spiritual leader of Swaminarayan Sampraday had been streamed in the webinar.
